2 How to manage study & exams

This section looks at how to manage exams each term. This includes information about what to expect, how to prepare for an exam and practical tips to help you perform well. Students who are autistic may feel more anxious during this time on campus.

Exams at SETU include Christmas exams and Summer exams with repeat exams in August. Depending on your course you may have continuous assessment, project work/presentations and formal assessments each term.

Working in a group with other students is part and parcel of university study. Quite a few people worry about it, and some have real problems with it. This activity looks at the main issues people have with group work and gives you some practical tips for your own study.

6 What are assessments, and how do you survive them?

This section will look at different forms of assessment.  It will give you some practical ideas on how to prepare for them, and how to get the most out of them.

Assignments are similar to mini essays where you research a topic and write about it with referencing. SETU run workshops to help you with your academic writing skills each term. Sometimes students may have to deliver a presentation or work on a group project.
